# Benchmarks: James D. McMillian

Canonical page: https://mcmillian.llc/#benchmarks

The site publishes JMH (Java Microbenchmark Harness) results as graphs and tables. Each result set can be compared run against run.

## Result sets

- **JMH certificate benchmark:** Bouncy Castle and JDK certificate operations (signing and verification). These results support the cryptographic performance claim and are separate from the call-pipeline throughput and savings figures. The SigningVerificationBenchmark entries are a combined workload, not directly comparable to the isolated signing or verification methods.
- **Certificate cache strategies:** JMH comparison of certificate cache strategies.
- **Vert.x vs Spring Boot:** five saved runs comparing Vert.x and Spring Boot performance, grouped into Scaled run (Baseline, Scaled run 2, Scaled run 3), Scaling, and Focused endpoints.
- **JSON serialization:** JMH JSON serialization runs across the saved GraalVM runs and a serializer comparison.
- **JSON library comparison:** focused JMH comparison of JSON libraries.
- **Certificate cache optimizations:** 17 saved runs of the certificate cache benchmarks, in seven collections: Commons benchmark, First get and set, Get set and verify, Throughput runs, Get and set (both variants), Get and set with memory class, and Last runs.

## What the results do and do not record

The results record operations per second and average time per operation. They do not record memory size.
